Kotawaringin Timur – The spirit of gotong royong is deeply rooted in Kelurahan Mentawa Baru Hilir, with community clean-up events organized weekly. The aim of these activities is to maintain a clean, beautiful, and healthy environment in Mentawa Baru Ketapang, Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur, which took place on Sunday (21/06/2026).
Regrettably, the enthusiasm for community involvement in gotong royong activities has waned as modernization takes its toll. To re-ignite this spirit, Babinsa from Koramil 1015-03/Mentawa Baru Ketapang, Serka Irvandi, led an initiative to conduct a parit cleanup together with local residents.
Serka Irvandi emphasized that using simple tools would make the task of cleaning the parit faster and easier. This cooperative effort illustrates the importance of collaboration between Babinsa and the community in maintaining cleanliness in their area.
Furthermore, Danramil 1015-03/Mentawa Baru Ketapang, Letda Inf Iskandar, expressed that joint clean-up events not only create a cleaner environment but also foster mutual care among residents. It is hoped that such activities will continue regularly, enhancing the partnership between the military and the local populace.
